In 2023, our team began a process to assess and identify gaps in Esquimalt community activities and programming. We contacted and met with a number of key non-profit organizations, Esquimalt Mayor Barb Desjardins, and other community members and organizations. Through our discussions we were advised to focus our efforts on Seniors – Activities, Programs and Services [55+].
With this guidance, the Esquimalt Seniors Community Centre (ESCC) Society Board has provided a range of services including Information Sessions on a variety of subjects. Our non-denominational Community Centre is providing elders, seniors, residents, and visitors the opportunity to enjoy daily activities that improve and enrich their quality of life.
We are guided by the following principles:
Independently governed by a registered non-profit Society consisting of community volunteer members.
Work in collaboration with other non profit service providers to achieve our shared goals.
Enrich and develop community programs and services.
Non-denominational – We are incorporated as a volunteer based non-profit society with a primary goal of serving the seniors’ community by developing and delivering minimal cost programs and services.
We encourage everyone to drop in for a free coffee, tea, cookies, and treats along with activities including Chair Yoga, Painting, Arts and Crafts, Nordic Walking, and paper-crafting.
