We would like to acknowledge with respect the history, customs, and culture of the Lkwungen (Songhees) and Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) Nations on whose traditional lands we live, learn and work.
We acknowledge that the Esquimalt Seniors Community Centre rests on the ancestral and traditional lands of the Lkwungen-speaking Peoples, the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations.
With gratitude, we give thanks and share our certainty that every child, person and elder matters. Hay’sx’qa si’em (hy-sh-kwa sea-em} - "Thank you, respected / honourable one.”
Esquimalt Seniors Community Centre Society is a not for profit, non-denominational seniors society that operates a community centre with programming and activities designed with the 55+ age group in mind (but without age restrictions).
Esquimalt Seniors Community Centre Society strives to promote a friendly, relaxed, non-judgmental place where our volunteers, members and guests may come together in friendship and camaraderie. We expect language and behaviour to be non-political and non-threatening to ensure a safe and positive environment.
We respect the privacy of our volunteers, members and guests and expect others to do the same. Any confidential information relating to the Society’s business, activities or personal information relating to our volunteers, members and guests must not be divulged to any other person.
We occasionally receive mobility walkers and scooters which have been donated to us. If you know of someone who needs assistance in getting around, please enquire by email (esquimalt.memorial.hall@gmail.com) as to availability. Donations are always appreciated, but not necessary.
Through Canada Scooters, ESCC offers a free inspection for walkers, wheelchairs, and scooters to use on loan, with donations appreciated but not necessary.
Please check our calendar for the next available date.
Every week we put together a number of food hampers for those in Esquimalt who require a helping hand in making ends meet.
If there is anyone you know who could use a few extra groceries, please let us know.
You must be available to pick up a food hamper on Wednesday afternoon and take it to them. Unfortunately, we are not able to deliver the hampers due to time restraints on our volunteers.
Kindly email us at esquimalt.memorial.hall@gmail.com.
